Balanced Beauty

A Conversation with Crissy Wiseman NP-C, CANS

For experienced injector Crissy Wiseman, beauty is as much about confidence as it is about contour. With more than 25 years of clinical experience and a mastery of facial anatomy, the founder of Wise Aesthetics in Carmel brings both science and artistry to her work. Her signature approach: subtle, balanced enhancements that celebrate each client’s natural expression.

Q: You’ve earned a reputation as one of the region’s leading injectors. What’s most exciting to you right now in the world of aesthetic medicine and injectables?
A:
What excites me most is that the broader aesthetic world is finally catching up to what I’ve believed from the very beginning: less is more. I love seeing how much more personalized and precise injectables have become. We now have access to products and techniques that let us fine-tune results, whether we’re addressing volume loss, balancing facial symmetry or creating subtle contour. I’m also really excited about biostimulators and collagen-building treatments that improve the skin from the inside out. Instead of just filling a space, we’re helping the skin behave more youthfully over time. That fits my personal philosophy perfectly—subtle, steady and smart results that age gracefully with you.

Q: For someone considering injectables for the first time, what’s the best way to start?
A: The best place to start is not with a syringe—it’s with a conversation. Many first-time clients think they need a specific treatment, but my role is to evaluate facial balance, movement and skin health to guide them toward what will look most natural. I always recommend starting conservatively. We can build over time as trust and confidence grow. We also discuss a long-term plan rather than a one-off quick fix. You do not have to do everything at once. My job is to make first-timers feel safe, informed and in control, not pressured.

Q: You’re known for your meticulous eye for symmetry and natural beauty. How do you define “the art” of injectables, and what makes a result look truly effortless?
A:
To me, the “art” of injectables is the balance between anatomy, proportion and restraint.
The best work is undetectable—it just looks like the client on their best day. I pay close attention to light, shadow and expression so results move naturally with the face. My goal is for friends to notice you look refreshed, not “done.”

Q: As we head into the new year, what treatments or routines do you recommend for clients who want to refresh their look and feel their best in 2026?
A:
The new year is a great time to focus on prevention and skin health, and I like to think in terms of a year-long glow-up plan rather than a single treatment. I love pairing subtle injectable touch-ups with treatments that improve texture, tone and collagen. A consistent skincare routine, light resurfacing or microneedling can make a big difference—and create a beautiful foundation for anything we do with injectables. If someone wants to feel their absolute best in 2026, we build a plan that lines treatments up with their calendar, big events, travel and recovery time, so everything feels intentional and manageable.

Q: Injectables may be your specialty, but Wise Aesthetics offers more than that. What other treatments or services do clients love for skin health and confidence?
A: Injectables are just one piece of the puzzle. At Wise Aesthetics, we take a holistic approach to skin and confidence. Some of our most loved non-injectable options include laser and light therapies for pigment and redness, RF microneedling for deeper collagen remodeling, and advanced facials that cleanse, exfoliate and infuse active serums. I consider traditional microneedling a core treatment, as it supports collagen, refines pores, softens scarring and enhances overall skin quality. When paired with medical-grade skincare and a consistent maintenance plan, it’s one of the best ways to keep skin smooth, resilient and youthful. Everything is designed to work together to build healthier, more confident skin over time.
