“My passion for otolaryngology and surgery was realized early in medical training when I fell in love with the ability to operate and have a ‘hands-on’ role in my patients’ healing.”
Fueled by a fascination with physiology and wellness, Dr. Nicole Klein’s devotion to the practice of medicine and surgery is rooted in improving the lives of her patients. “I love the art of taking care of my patients, making them feel better, and helping them on their journey to wellness,” she says, acknowledging the rhythmic interplay between skill, artistry and technology. A partner at Otolaryngology Associates and OA Facial Plastics, with offices in Indianapolis, Carmel and Noblesville, she specializes in general ENT, reconstructive surgeries, and minimally invasive facial esthetic procedures and treatments. After receiving an undergraduate degree and doctorate from Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Klein stayed to complete her surgical residency with the Department of Otolaryngology. “I have dedicated my entire career to the study and practice of surgery exclusively involving the head and neck,” Dr. Klein explains. As a General Otolaryngologist, her practice spans all age groups including pediatric, adolescent and adult patient populations. “I enjoy restorative procedures, both functional to treat problems related to nasal/sinus concerns, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, sleep disorders, disorders of ears and hearing, as well as esthetic and cosmetic restorative procedures for trauma, reconstruction, and to combat aging,” she shares. Outside of her practice, Dr. Klein enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband Rob (founder of Conceptual Kitchens & Millwork) and three children. Meredith Provost, MD
Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist/Obstetrician-Gynecologist Indiana Fertility Institute 10610 North Pennsylvania Street, #101 Indianapolis, IN 46280 317) 575-6565 fertilityindy.com |
“The field [of fertility] combines my love of science and cutting-edge technology with surgery and a lot of counseling and compassion.”
With a passion for learning and a desire to help people that was born in her at an early age, Dr. Meredith Provost describes herself as a “late bloomer” to medicine. The Division 1 athlete attended North Carolina State on a volleyball scholarship—graduating at the top of her class in Biochemistry. She deferred an acceptance to medical school in order to attend the University of Cambridge in England, where she ended up staying almost five years, completing a Ph.D. in the History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine. Later, as a first-year medical student, Dr. Provost found herself in a fertility office during a rotation, and felt an immediate calling. “I was laser focused on helping patients with infertility from that day on,” she remembers. She finished medical school, completed a four-year residency and three years of fellowship, and now practices on her own at Indiana Fertility Institute in Carmel, Indiana. Like anything in life, fertility treatment isn't linear, she explains. Every patient is unique, and there are steps forward and backward, and some days can be really hard. “I view my role as a guide, and I need to listen first in order to help [my patients] achieve their personal goals,” she says. Dr. Provost is fortunate to be able to experience parenthood and knows how important it is to her patients. She's raising two children with her husband Adam, and when she’s not in the office or the OR, she is usually with them on the soccer field or basketball court. Tara Emerick, DDS, MS
Board Certified Orthodontist Emerick Orthodontics 12863 Broad Street Carmel, IN 46032 (317) 660-5552 emerickortho.com |
“My patients motivate me to always continue learning the newest technologies and advancements in orthodontics in order to create the best experience possible.”
As an adolescent, Dr. Tara Emerick’s own orthodontic treatment made a drastic impact on her self-esteem, and became a career catalyst. “Ever since, I’ve always known that I wanted to go into dentistry, specifically orthodontics, so that I could help others the way that [my orthodontist] helped me,” she says. After graduating from Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis and completing a three-year orthodontics residency in Chicago, Dr. Emerick now lives in the Village of West Clay with her husband Jon, their three small children, and the family dog Lulu, where she opened her own boutique orthodontic practice, Emerick Orthodontics, earlier this year. “When I evaluate a patient, I’m not only looking at the teeth,” says Dr. Emerick, explaining that she also examines the jaws, bite, sinuses, growth pattern and more. This comprehensive approach helps her to make informed decisions and create individually tailored plans specific to each patient’s needs and desires. She is grateful to help her patients love their smiles, with treatment options including Invisalign, InBrace, clear or metal braces and teeth whitening services. “Orthodontic treatment is good for mental health by increasing the patient’s self-esteem,” she says, adding that straighter teeth are also healthier teeth because they make proper oral hygiene easier to accomplish. This leads to better prevention of gingivitis and periodontitis, which studies have linked to numerous systemic health issues such as diabetes, heart and kidney disease, dementia, osteoporosis, asthma and cancer. Dr. Emerick strives to make orthodontic treatments as convenient and comfortable as possible for all of her patients. Dr. Emerick invites you to stop by the pink building in the Village of West Clay if you have any questions about treatment for yourself or a loved one, and be sure to follow @emerickortho on Instagram. |

A native of Fishers, Indiana, Dr. Chris Lowery graduated from Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine and then trained in general surgery at Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. He spent five years working as an attending general surgeon before completing the Cosmetic Surgery fellowship under the guidance of acclaimed cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Robert Jackson. Today, the two work alongside one another at Hamilton Surgical Arts, where their unmatched dedication is apparent not only in their high standards and impeccable results, but also in their accomplishments in the field of cosmetic surgery. Dr. Lowery believes that a healthy body image is part of a healthy lifestyle, and hopes his work can positively impact his patients. He says, “Sometimes patients need reassurance about a certain characteristic, and that may include treatment or maybe just reinforcement that existing characteristics are very pleasing as they are.” Specializing in general cosmetic surgery, his work includes face and body procedures as well as wound care. “I really enjoy the artistry of cosmetic surgery,” he says, including that he stays abreast of the latest technology so that he can offer his patients the best care with minimal downtime. Robert Jackson, MD
Board Certified General Body Cosmetic Surgeon Hamilton Surgical Arts 9660 East 146th Street, Suite 100 Noblesville, IN 46060 (317) 773-6677 hamiltonsurgicalarts.com |
“I appreciate the artistic side of cosmetic surgery, and especially the doctor-patient relationships—cosmetic surgery is one of the last bastions of a true doctor-patient relationship.”
As an innovative leader in the cosmetic surgery field, Dr. Robert Jackson has dedicated his career to providing surgical excellence and high-quality care to his patients. A true artist with expertise in all aspects of cosmetic surgery, Dr. Jackson says he enjoys body contouring because it is one of the areas where he can apply his talents as a sculptor. “Breast surgery is something I have been doing for over 35 years,” he says. “It is very rewarding to help a woman get the look they want.” He points out that the way we perceive ourselves on the outside can affect our inner psyche. “Cosmetic surgery can help people with positive body perception,” says Dr. Jackson. Dr. Jackson is actively involved in the cosmetic surgery community and has held many leadership roles over the years. He remains committed to continuing education, always learning new techniques that will benefit his patients. He has traveled the world lecturing and teaching, and he has helped to train 19 fellows in the field, which he says is one of the most rewarding aspects of his career. Earlier this year, Dr. Jackson published a book, Bob, You Can’t Do That, about his life experiences, including a tour of duty in Vietnam as an Army surgeon, surgical mission trips to Haiti and the Dominican Republic, and his career as a cosmetic surgeon. “It took a lifetime to live and 2 ½ years to write,” he says. When he can get away, Dr. Jackson enjoys spending time at his lake cottage with his wife and dog.
